FUN FRIDAY - Lately Nora and I stay pretty busy. She does Story Time every Wednesday at the library and then her Thursday play group is very active -always something fun to do each week.
But today was a once a month activity - we usually call it FFF = First Friday Fun but b/c of Easter we had to postpone this one... it was with our MOPS (Mother's of Preschoolers) group.
We took a tour of the local Fire Station this morning and Nora LOVED it!! All the kids got to ride in the truck - or they "thought" they did at least. We loaded them all up in the extended cab while it was parked in the garage and the fireman got in started it up and then pulled it out side - b/c of liability reasons he could not take them on a "real" ride but they didn't care or know the difference! :P That is the great thing about toddlers! ;)
They each got to take turns putting on the gear - Nora especially loved the mask! I will try and add photos in the April album.
She tried on the fire helmet too but I think she liked the mask better - they were all so funny b/c they wouldn't turn their heads to the camera with the helmet on - guess it was WAAAY too HEAVY!!! LOL
Also I will include a group photo I took - these are most of the kids in our MOPPETS program........14 of the 20 tots! We did the best we could to "round-them-up" for the photo - but some of the babies were being held by mamas.... Nora is the first one on the left sitting down in the group photo.
EDITED TO ADD: I forgot to mention that afterwards David called me on the cell phone asking about our trip to the Fire Station -I told him all about it and how excited Nora was to wear the mask and helmet... well, when we arrived to pick up Daddy for lunch - he came out to the van with his huge equipment duffel bag hanging over his shoulder.
Before he even got in the van he opened up the whole bag and showed her his Fire Helmet and mask and boots! :) David wanted her to know that he was certified to be a fireman too so that she would know that her daddy is a "hero" too! :)
That is just one example of what a GREAT Daddy David is! :) He didn't have to do that but he did - and all for Nora. :)

Horray!!! Nora found the missing "good" digital camera yesterday!!! We were in my sewing room and she was playing under the guest bed like she loves to do. I hear her talking saying, "my camera.... my camera... Nora's click camera"
I thought hummm could it be??? (It's been gone since the end of January adn I've searched everywhere for it and had given up on ever seeing it again) So to coax her out from under the bed I said, "Come on Nora, let's go downstairs to get some jelly beans." and out she came from under the bed with the "good" digital camera in her little hands!!! :) Yeah!!!
Whew, now I don't have to "hear it" anymore from you know who.... and we don't have to worry with buying a new camera! Thank you NORA for FINDING The Camera!~ :)
Edited to add - I added photos to the March folder that I took of Nora yesterday playing in the clover patch in "Jackson's Field" (what she calls the backyard.)
Don't worry, we didn't go out in public yesterday, I do know she is too big for that outfit and after it is washed this week it will be put up for the baby girl on the way. :) She's way too young to be showing that much of her legs! LOL

Oh wow - I added the Journal entrie and a few photos last night and already this morning I see there have been close to 30 visitors :) Fantastic!
I just had to come comment after reading both Tracie and Miss Alice's comments on baby B looking like me. Is the reason you think he looks like me, because his mouth is slighty open??? LOL ...and my mouth is always flapping in the wind? LOL :c)
By the way, Nora is her mother's daughter when it comes to talking too. She talks ALL the time!!! and I mean ALL THE TIME!
My friend Heidi kept her Monday while we were in Houston and when we picked her up that evening I asked Heidi if Nora ever quit talking and she laughed and said, for the 45 minuites she was asleep in the car she didn't talk and that was it. Yep, she's my daughter alright! :c)
Heidi has 2 boys, Jed (just turned 3 yesterday) and Eli who was 1 in November. Jed is Nora's best friend in the whole world and I love watching them together. I had them one day at McDonald's together and they just sat across the table and giggled at each other the whole time. So cute!

Well, we had our "high definition" ultrasound appointment with Dr. Kirshon in Houston today. Dr. Oliver recommends this as a standard procedure for any of her patients carrying multiples.... so nothing to worry about.
It was amazing - as are all of our ultrasounds :c) But this time I had my own TV screen to look at and didn't have to have my head cricked to the side to see. The Dr. even let David video record the whole appointment (our 1st time to get to tape it) and I look forward to watching it again.
Dr. Kirshon scanned me for a little over an hour - closely measuring every bone and organ possible in each baby. They are growing right along and each weigh just a few ounces shy of 2 pounds.
Last month, baby A = girl, was 1 ounce larger than her brother and head down. However this time she was positioned BREACH and is the smallest baby. Baby B = boy, today was positioned horizontal with his head just under my right boob. No wonder I have been having such nagging pains in my ribcage there - but all this time I thought it was a foot... Nooooooooo, he is head butting me! LOL
We go for our monthly appointment with Dr. Oliver on Wednesday. I hope she will have my records from today’s visit by then. I over heard Dr. Kirshon recording in his hand held tape recorder something about able to deliver at 37 weeks…. Which is 1 week earlier than Dr. Oliver originally told me.
I am at 26 weeks now, so if that be the case...I only have about 11-12 weeks left before we get to meet the babies!

I receive weekly emails updating me of the growth of the babies. Thought you may enjoy knowing what is going on with the twins. :c)
Week 24 - How your baby's growing: Your baby's growing steadily, gaining about a quarter of a pound since last week, when she was just over a pound. Since she's almost a foot long, that makes a pretty lean figure, but her body is filling out proportionally and she'll soon put on more baby fat. Your baby's skin is thin, translucent, and wrinkled, her brain is growing rapidly, and her taste buds are developing. Her lungs are developing "branches" of the respiratory "tree" and cells that produce surfactant, a substance that helps the air sacs inflate easily.
Edited to add - I updated the ultrasound photo album just now and added 3D face photos of each of the babies!!! Too early to tell who they look like. To me they just look like babies. :c)

Lots of people have asked how I am feeling and I am doing good. :) I do have to be careful when I first stand up adn take those first few steps (lots of pressure)
Last weekend we went shopping and I bought some maternity clothes so now I am starting to really look pregnant with my baby bump ;) which is good b/c until now I just looked at myself as fat... :D
Nora and I had a great day Wednesday. We went to Story Time at the Bridge City library, then we drove over to the fabric store out of town... we were just there last Fri and the store owner, Cindy, gave her some jelly beans in a cup to snack on while I shopped... and she remembered!!!
When I was parking the van Nora told me, Mommy I want to go to the "Fire Ant Store and get jelly beans!" :) We all had a big laugh (the owner and workers) on the fire ant/fabric store mix up :) :) :)
Today, was our MOPS 1st Friday Fun Play date and we went to Tug Boat Island park. Nora had a great time which =s that she also got so dirty! We attempted to take a group photo but kids kept running off so only half of the people are in the pic.
I will upload those to a March folder. I am trying to do better about updating this page :) Hope you enjoy our stories and photos!

Well, I just had to come share what happened this morning... I also called Clara and Daddy and told them about it ;)
I was at the computer and heard Nora start screaming and crying "Help, Ouchie, Ouchie, Help Meeeee!" so I take off runnign as fast as I could to the kitchen. (which hurts a lot for me to walk fast much less RUN!)
I get there and Nora is standing by her shopping cart and crying because her BABY DOLL is smashed up in the seat! She has a little baby in the seat and the big baby in the basket along with a Halloween Pumpkin full of Mardi Gras beads - which was too big and pushing the seat forward - smashing the baby doll up against the handle. I think to myself.... Good grief!
I ran for this?!?!?! So I pick up the pumpkin and fix it so it won't push the seat up and Nora tells me, "Thank you Momma, Her feels all better now. All better." ;c)

Well yesterday David and I celebrated 10 years since we said "I do" :) Many of you were there to share our special moment with us. We use to watch the video on our anniversary but we haven't done that in the past several years. maybe this weekend we will have time to sit down and watch it together.
Guess now we can't say we are "still newlyweds" LOL For the first 5 or 6 years when ever anyone would ask how long we had been married I would quickly say, "Oh, we are newlyweds!" not telling how many years in order to avoid the children question. People just were not very understanding to why a couple could be married so long and not have children. Once a lady who I didn't even know told me point blank - "Oh you are one of those types... You don't even want kids do you!" She had no idea how bad that hurt me.
Yesterday we had our monthly check up with Dr. Oliver. The twins are doing great! Both babies are measuring in the normal weight/size range as if they were a single pregnancy! That is music to my ears b/c I have been so worried that they will have low birth weights and may have to stay longer in the hospital than me... but as of right now all is looking great! :)
Baby A = the girl weighs 1 lb 1 oz.
Baby B = the boy weighs 1 lb even.
My doctor is hopeful that if baby A is the largest and head down that I will deliver naturally - however if baby B is the largest at the time of delivery, that will mean automatic C-section. Too early to tell yet.
Dr Oliver wants to refer me to a Dr in Houston for a higher quality sonogram soon. I am waiting to hear from then on when I am to go... but it will be in the next week or so. This is just a common procedure for her patients with multiples. I will keep you updated.
Nora and I have been attending a new play group. Several of our friends already are going with us too and it is fun to meet more moms and kids. Nora loves going to "Millie's house" her mom, Lisa hosts the meet up every other week. Millie has LOTS and LOTS of toys!!
Lisa actually kept Nora for me yesterday while I was at the Dr. and when I returned Nora's first words to me when she saw me was, "NO WAY MOMMY!!" with her hand in the stop position held up to me. Clearly she didn't want it to be time to go home. She and Millie had been playing outside on the trampoline, in the sand box, and on the swing set with slide and teeter-totter.
The only way I could convince her to leave was to tell her that Daddy was home waiting for her. (he took the rest of the day off work after the Dr.) Nora was a little more agreeable but still would have stayed longer at Millie's :c)
I added sonogram photos - they are not real clear but several of you have requested them. Hopefully the sonogram photos we get in Houston will be clearer! ;c)

I had to laugh at Amy's comment about not getting the Christmas photos uploaded until the twins were in school - so today while everyone was sleeping - Nora, David & Jackson - I decided to spend some time on getting the photos up.
Well, I am so mad at this stupid page I could pull all my hair out!!! aboutmybaby.com just recently changed the formatting and use to I could upload 10 photos at a time and add titles and get about 25-30 photos up in about 15-20 minutes.
Well, not now!!!! It is worse than if I had dial up!!! Which I am sure all of you know is so slow and frustrating at times! I started posting around 3:30 after Nora went down for her nap and it is now 6:45pm and I was only able to get 8 photos up!!!!
ONLY 8! Many times the page would time out and I would have to start over on that pic.... URGH!!! I am seriously considering a blog - which is free and moving all of my stuff over to that - the only set back would be that you wouldn't get email updates when I add new stuff, but maybe I could send those out instead.
I'll let you know if I decide to do that... so stay tuned.
News update on the TWINS - we know that we are having a boy and a girl! :)
I found out 2 weeks ago without David there to see :( I didn't have an appointment but got the Dr to work me in as I had been having sharp pains for 3-4 days and it wasn't getting any better. Dr Oliver examined everything and all looked A-OK. She said that it was normal for twins, to demand more room than my body could give them - my body just isn't growing as fast as the babies are. Still 2 weeks later it is still the same as before - just part of it. URGH! Which was not what I wanted to hear.
I will be 19 weeks as of this coming Tuesday 1/30. Both babies are measuring over 8 ounces each which is right on target for a single baby so things are looking good. I bought my first blue sleeper on the clearance rack at Wal-Mart the day after I found out! :)
Also we are stocking up on diapers each time we go out so I got a pack of those too. I will have a variety that is for sure. So if either baby is allergic to a certain brand chances are I will have back up. :) I buy name brand when they are on sale and I use a coupon. Other times it is the generic.
If you have any coupons at all for any brand, please feel free to mail them my way!!! ;)
Love to all of you from TX.
Enjoy the 8 pics from Christmas - sorry it isn't much...but I will try again this week to get some more up. ~Bonnie

I want to THANK YOU for taking the time to sign the guest book!!! I know many of you stop in often and take a look but don't sign and therefore we have no idea who has been by or if anyone even keeps up with the page anymore. It wasn't long ago I thought about discontinuing doing the web page b/c I felt no one even cared.
After the twin announcement we got lots of comments from friends we haven't spoken with in so long. It really warms my heart to know that you all still check in on us and I am so glad now I renewed the webpage for another year :)
Right now as I am typing this Nora is here by my side asking me to "Mommy, Play Kitchen with Nora p-l-e-a-s-e..." so how can say no to that???
I will be back with more photo updates soon. Thank you everyone for taking time to sign the guest book every now and again so we know that you do like getting the updates :)

Not sure what you will notice first, the news announcement or the new photo of the TWINS we are expecting next June!!!
David and I had the pleasure of telling our families in person while we were home for Thanksgiving of our wonderful news.
It was so fun to see everyone's happiness for us in their faces when we told them that Nora was going to be a big sister soon... and then to hear their excitement in their voices when we told them T-W-I-N-S!
Our prayers have been answered once again and we are looking forward to our family growing. There are a lot of things to do to prepare - thankfully David's mom can use a bed at her home so when my Dad and Clara come for a visit next January they will take back the cherry bed set that was David's fathers when he was a boy.
It is a perfect solution for both us and Kathy! :) Well I gotta close for now - I have supper to fix. I will be posting some more photos soon of Nora. :)

We are packed, ready and Kentucky bound!!! Tomorrow we fly out of Houston and into Nashville to go home to be with our families for the week of Thanksgiving!!! I think we will be there alost 10 days! Yeah!!!
I talked with my Daddy on the phone today and they are all ready for us - he has Nora's crib set up in her room already. I told him that this could be the last time he has to set it up b/c for Christmas Nora has asked Santa for a BIG girl bed.
Daddy also said for us to pack our sheep skin jackets b/c it is really cold in KY. I haven't worn a coat all year!! Guess we will have to get out our leather coats and brush the dust off them and take with us tomorrow.
Speaking of Santa - Nora and I got to talk with him today at the mall. We hadn't planned on going but at lunch time I was craving Arby's and the only Arby's I know of in TEXAS is in the Beaumont mall and we were in Beaumont.... so we went.
Santa wasn't busy at all with any photo taking and we were sitting a little ways from him but he started waving to Nora. She immediately put both hands over her eyes and would not look directly at him.
He then got up from his chair and stood by the railing of his front porch and was talking to us from a distance. She would peak between her fingers at him every little bit. hahah
Then he picked up a candy cane out of his basket and asked her if she liked candy. She unhid her face then and was smiling... he said she could have it but she would have to come get it - he couldn't throw across the flowers... so I didn't think she would do it but she did!
She held my hand and we walked around the flowers and to santa's house and down the walk to see him! I was expecting her to cry but she didn't!!! She wouldn't sit in his lap but she stood right in front of him the whole time looking at him. It was so cute!
He asked her what her name was and where she lived... then what she wanted for Christmas. We told him that since the kings gave baby Jesus 3 gifts we only wanted 3 gifts too. He thought that was a lovely idea.
Nora told him she wanted a waggon and a farm and then I had to tell him that she wanted a BIG girl bed as her third gift. ;) I didn't have my camera with me to get a photo and I wasn't about to pay the mall $30 for a package of her in a dirty shirt and pants and very messed up hair (she broke her hair clip in the car on the way) so we will have to go back another time for a photo when she looks cute. I can't believe you cant' get just a single photo anymore???
Well we will be back after the 27th so ta-ta for now. :) We CAN'T wait to see most of you in person and visit with you during Thanksgiving!!!!! And for those of you who we will not see, we wish you a happy day with your family!
Love from Texas, Bonnie, David & Nora

Today was Nora's Halloween Party at the Bridge City Story Time that we go to. All the kiddos were so cute all dressed up.
David was able to take tiem off from work to come join us for the hour. It was his first Story Time so I let him do all the helping Nora with making her craft. They both loved it.
I'm setting up a photo album called "Story Time Party" to show the photos that I took today. It was impossible to get one group photo of all the kids. The morning class majority of the children are 2 years old and under where as the afternoon class has several 4 and 5 year olds.
Enjoy! :)

Mail Call: This afternoon Nora and I went to the mailbox together. She loves for me to pick her up and let her "do it". Sitting right on top was a post card of a duck and she yelled out "DUCKIE!!!!!!" when she opened the mailbox door.
It was so cute! This was sent by one of Bonnie's HGTV quilting friends, Nickilee who lives in Maine. Of all the different people we have received postcards from...no one has sent as many as Nicki :) Thank You! You are so thoughtful to remember Nora when you travel and even when you are not traveling ;)
On the postcard she wrote: "Hi Nora, I hope you are being a good girl for your Mommy & Daddy. :) Here are some pictures of some animals from Maine. Do you know what they are? Be Good! Nickilee"
I so need to start a spreadsheet to keep up with how many states/countries we have received postcards from... her collections is Grooooowing!

aaaahhh Saturday! Today we dropped off my van at Firestone for it’s oil change and then headed over to I-HOP for brunch. Nora loves pancakes! The van still needed some more time before being ready to pick up so, afterwards we went to Target to check out the Halloween costumes.
Last year we used my nieces hand-me-down costume and Nora was a very cute bumblebee. This year, I have been trying to think of something for her to be but nothing I’ve thought of has seemed to wow me....little did I know that Nora would have her own ideas! – I just needed to get her to the store.
The first isle of costumes we came to were for toddlers - perfect! They had lots to choose from but the very minuite Nora spotted the Care Bears she started chanting – “Care Bear Count Down! Care Bear Count Down!? that’s the way her DVD from Abbey & Michael starts out...she recognized them right off the bat. Looking at all the tags they were all sized 3T-4T which I thought, well bummer – she needs a 2T.
When she saw in the way back the purple one, she really started chattering! “I want pea-bull Care Bear!!? I looked at David and he looked at me and we both knew that she had just decided once and for all that for Halloween she was going to be a “Pea-Bull Care Bear?. :c)
Of course I thought we needed to try it on first so we did. David warned me that we may have to wear it home... thankfully we didn't :c) but she LOVED it! Can you tell from her big smile!!!!
I didn't even have to tell her to say cheese. I am gonna have to think of something to help hold the hood back so she can see. Maybe use some hair clips to clip it to her hair?
