Today was a great day!

This morning we went to pick up a rental while my van is in the shop for repairs (story to come later) Our insurance only allows $50/day and since David does a lot of renting from Enterprise - they let us have this van at no additional charge! whoo hoo!

After we dropped my van off at the shop, the kids had a great time playing outside on the driveway with their cars and ride-on-stuff. I was on high alert the whole time though b/c one was always trying to drive over top of the other, or ME! :P

The temperature was in the high 60's and very sunny - felt like spring!

Nora was home from school today (MLK holiday)

During the twins nap time, she got to use her new paints that she bought at Joann's Saturday!

Which meant that I had to sit with her and didn't get to be in the other room sewing... which was ok for a change. ;) She loved it! And I loved that I didn't have to watch the clock and wake up anyone to go pick her up from school today!

and she had paint left over and I suggested I face paint a flower on her - to which she was completely AMAZED that I knew how to face paint! She told me I was the "BESTEST Momma in the whole state of Texas!" LOL :P

So then afterward, the twins were still napping so she played some on the laptop. She loves PBS Kids Island

While I got to finish up these!

oh and did I mention that I had a rental...? Guess what I did the first time I got behind the wheel in the gurauge to leave... I wasn't paying attention at all - and instead of putting it in R for REVERSE to pull out of the gurauge... I put it in D!!!!

resulting in the wheel barrel that is up hanging on the wall in front of where I park to be hit then when I put it in reverse, it came FALLING DOWN ON THE HOOD OF THE RENTAL VAN!!! EEEK! Look at all of those scratches!

And lastly the end of our great day - I had to take the twins with Nora and I to her gymnastics... which I so VERY RARELY DO - but tonight David had to work late and could not be home in time before we had to leave... but that was OK - he met us there and then after class we ate Pizza at Mazzios! :) The kids loved the games although we didn't put a single coin in the slots. :P I took a video too of Olivia driving - she was toooooo funny to watch! :)

I'll try to upload later (videos take forever!)

It was a great day! ;)

Olivia Drawing Papaw's Portrait

I'm not sure exactly what day these were taken while we were in KY over Christmas... but it had to have been after Christmas b/c Olivia is playing with a little wipe off board that Ma-maw gave to her.

Paul Thomas got one too - but didn't want to get buckled in his seat to use it.. so he just had to watch. While Ma-maw cooked breakfast Olivia kept everyone entertained.

I wonder what she's thinking as she moves the pen across the board... I think she has a plan of some sort because she was talking to herself the whole time. Oh here is a clue - here she stars with the eyes...

and a dot for a nose and a line for a smile..

Can you see the face... It looks just like Papaw don't ya think? ;) She actually did it all on her own with out being coached - I wasn't even payin attention and it was my dad who realized that she had made a face! :) Now that I have gone back thru all the photos that I took - it is apparent that she was making a face the whole time! WOW pretty creative for a 2 year old. :)

Ta-Da! Olivia's first portrait was of her Papaw! ;)

Guess who's lost her 1st TOOTH!

We were in line to check out at Walmart - and Nora said LOOK MOMMA - and I looked down and her tooth was the loosest I've ever seen it! I was just sure we were gonna loose it in the checkout!

Thankfully she left it alone and less than 10 minutes later it was out! (my dad lives very close to Walmart)

and she didn't even have to wait on the tooth fairy! We tapped it to a hot pink post it sized card and when she went to show Papaw, he already had a dollar waiting for her!

of course she's already been thinking of this for a while and plans to write the tooth fairy a note and ask her if she can keep her first tooth - since it was the first tooth she ever had... and first one she ever lost... also she's putting in a request for "FIVE COINS" b/c she's 5 years old. ;)

How exciting, first Santa found us in KY and now the tooth fairy! She will have lots to share when she goes back to school. I'm almost certain she's the first 5 year old in her class to loose a tooth! ;) and look what's peeking in... the new one grew up behind it a few weeks ago.

My baby is not a baby anymore. :( & :)

LEGOS from Uncle Barry!

Guess what the girls and I had fun doing today....

Building our very first Fire Station and Fire Trucks!

You can see my dad in the background - he really enjoyed watching ;)

Nora enjoyed helping me to "follow the directions" to build it and was a great helper at finding all the parts... but Olivia really was the one who loved playing and manipulating the fire men and trucks. She played and played for over an hour! ;)

Come on MOM - stop taking photos and play with me!

Thank you Uncle Barry for the Lego's for Christmas! They are right up Olivia's alley... I'm sure Paul Thomas will enjoy them too - but for the first time playing with them he was still nappin.

Love from Kentucky!
