Yesterday, Nora turned 2 years old! :) She received two very special Birthday cards in the mail - the first from Miss Alice who sent her a card with her special angel stamps on the envelope :) and two $1 bills - and the second card wasn't signed LOL but we figured it out because thankfully MawMaw Clara did remember to put a return address sticker on the back of the envelope. I called my Dad and we all had a good laugh :)
Nora also received a package from Abbey & Michael yesterday. They sent her a really cute outfit and a swimsuit with cherries on it. She knew just what to do with it too! When she saw it she immediately began pulling it over her head wanting to wear it and go to the spray park. It was too funny seeing her pull it over her head and her face bursting thru the spandex! :) LOL I will upload photos later.
Today David and I are taking Nora to Beaumont, to go to Chunky Cheese for lunch. We are taking Miss Heidi and Nora's best friend Jed (he's 3 months older than Nora) and of course his baby brother Eli (6 months old) gets to go too. We figured this would be fun for Nora and she LOVES Pizza.
This won't be her first time exactly - we did go last Dec. while in KY - but she hasn't been since so it will be all new to her again most likely. Last year, the day we went, she was not feeling good and laid her head on the table the whole time. I know today she will really love it!
The official Birthday Party will be while we are home in KY on vacation the 1st week of July. Nora's thing right now is "Ole McDonald" so my Dad is going to be in caharde of giving all the kids a hay ride around the farm. I know she will LOVE it!!! July 2nd at 2pm at Bonnie's Dads home... invitations will be mailed out this week. :)
Happy Weekend everyone!
Love from Texas! Bonnie, Nora, David & Jackson

A few of you have asked about pic on the front page of the quilt in the photo of Nora sleeping in her crib... Is this one I made?
Well no, but sort of ;) When I was about 8 or 9 yeas old, my mom was going to use up some of her scraps to make a very small quilt for me to use with a small baby doll. Well I being her helper and having bigger and better ideas kept insisting that it be bigger. It went from being 12" x 12" to a little larger so that my bigger baby dolls my Cabbage Patch kid could be wrapped up - fully demonstrating to her that it was not big enough to wrap all the way around and tuck in good... to - "Well, Mom, since we have added this much more we may as well make it big enough to use for a real baby one day."
I am sure that my Mom didn't have plans to get into another project, but I am SO glad that she was easily convinced to go along with my wishes. Because now, some twenty years later... here is my baby all wrapped up in the love that my mom used to make this very special and one of a kind quilt for "me and my baby".
It's been 7 years since my mom passed away and I so wish that she could have met Nora. My Mom's mother, Bonnie, who I was named after died before I was born too and so I already know what it will be like for Nora to grow up only hearing about her grandmother. I hope that I will do as good of a job as my mother did of sharing stories of her mom so that my daughter will know what a great woman my Mother really was.
My mom let me pick an choose the left over 4 patches to use and arrange them how I wanted and when it came time to do the hand quilting, Mom even let me add a few of my own first stitches.
I love wrapping Nora up in this quilt and cherish my memory of my Mother and hope that years from now, Nora will use the same quilt with her child. :)

ok, I won't go into all the details now, I will save that for David to do later - but we had a "one of a kind / never before" types of weekends with Nora last weekend...
I told David he would be in charge of telling about it here... so stay tuned.
Nora got her fist ever post card from GEORGIA yesterday!!! It was from a couple we call "Dad & Kim" :) They are the parents of our really good friends, Jay & Tricia.
When I opened the mailbox yesterday, I was greeted by an alligator!! eek! There was right on top ;) Actually the card is from FL, but it was mailed FROM GA so we will count it as GA card #1! :) Thanks Kim!!!
