MMMmmm Yuck! ... I "WIKE" it! 10/29

About 5 nights a week we have ice cream for dessert after supper. No begging Nora to eat her food - if she doesn't eat, she doesn't get ice cream. period.

And don't think that stops the rest of us - b/c David and I have been known to eat our right in front of her! Only about 4 or 5 times her whole life... ;)

But tonight we had a little something different - ice cream sandwiches - which were just a tad bit messy - which the kids LOVED! ;)

Olivia kept saying... "Oh mmmm Yuck! I WIKE it!" ;)

Thankfully Nora wasn't messy with hers at all and even threw her wrapper in the trash can without being reminded. :) As she turned around David asked her how she smiled for her school photos yesterday at school and this thankfully I had the camera ready when she turned around! ;)

Nora... did you like your ice cream cookie??? YES!

(that is her protective ear cup she wore today during Halloween party and also will wear every night when she sleeps)

and Daddy, what about you?.... did you like your ice cream cookie???

hahahah! I couldn't resist! David always gives me such crazy faces when I point the camera at him! :P

Nora's ear

Nora surgery day

David is traveling to Ohio this week...

It wasn't that long ago that David traveled to Chiacago, IL this month for a conference. The 1st week of October... and now this week - the last week of October he is traveling again for work. This time to Akron, OH to the cooperate office of his division for Firestone. This is a photo of the old Firestone Factory. Where it all began... did you know that they grossed over $100,000 profit in their first year of operation!!! WOW! Read more about that here.

David's visit to Akron a short time - flew up Monday and then back home Tuesday evening but said it was a very nice area and that the whole town is ALL ABOUT Firestone....

Akron, OH climate is warm during summer when temperatures tend to be in the 70's and very cold during winter when temperatures tend to be in the 20's.

The warmest month of the year is July with an average maximum temperature of 83.90 degrees Fahrenheit, while the coldest month of the year is January with an average minimum temperature of 20.10 degrees Fahrenheit.

St. Francis Fall Festival

Today after the 10:30am Mass our church had it's annual Fall Festival. What a great day it was! The renovations to the sanctuary were complete and felt so great to be back into the church for worship after being gone for over a year due to a water main bursting.

I knew it would be very nice after all the work that has gone into redoing the inside of the church - but WOW was it ever so nice! and beautiful!!!

We were having too much fun after Mass for very many photo taking opportunities but I was lucky enough to get someone passing by to take a family photo of us standing in front of the St. Francis statue.

Olivia did not want her face painted and what 2 year old can sit still that long anyway when there is so much to see and do. However she did enjoy watching them paint pumpkins on the tops of her hands. ;)

And Nora really enjoyed using the "GLUE" :) to make a craft. Isn't her scare crow face cute? She always enjoys a good face painting and this time she choose the same on both sides - a pink cross with a flower vine going up it.

A Quilt for Rachael

It's not that often I gift anyone a quilt...at least anymore....

Most times in the past, I've been heart broken to put in so much time and thought into my gift to then not even receive as much as a Thank-you! Shocking I know but it's true. I can name off over a dozen that I've made and given away and not a single thank-you.

However in August, I was finishing up two quilts that I had made from blocks made and donated from my online "Sunshine Quilters" group = where we together make quilts to donate to any charity of our choice... and as I was finishing them up two very special girls that I know came to mind. And rather than just give to a charity group I thought I'd give these two deserving girls I know a gift...

One of them being my cousin's daughter - Rachael who is a college student at the same college David and I went to - Western Kentucky University. It is very hard to believe that the little adorable flower girl at our wedding is now studying to be a nurse! Where has the time gone?

So you can bet I was so pleased that she contacted me after she got it with the following notes and photos :) I'm so glad I choose to give this to her... Rachael has done so good with her life thus far. She lost her momma Jane, to cancer when she and her brother were both so very young. Often times I've thought of them in my own loss of my mother. I was 24.. but they were both under 10 years old!

Anyway, I thought I'd share here for all of you to see what a beautiful girl Rachael is :) She has one of the brightest smiles! :) :) :) I'm so proud of her!

Bonnie Bonnie Bonnie, OMGGGGG!!!

Play Date at the Park anyone?

yes PLEASEeeee! They just love going to the park. If I mention it - Paul Thomas runs to gather up shoes and sandals for everyone even me!

in case you can't tell or not sure.. YES his pants are soaking wet in the photos (see the one above) He went down the slide before anyone else and soaked up the puddle at the end... it was rainy here yesterday.

and look-a-there! Paul Thomas and this little girl, Chloe, could pass for twins with their same colored hair and big blue eyes. :)

The kids really had a great time. You would never know it's fall around here.. with highs in the high 80's or low 90's and very high humidity levels. Ahhh... that's SE Texas for ya!

it was a race to the slide once more..

Peek-ah-Booo Momma! :)
