Girl Scouts' Raingutter Regatta

Today the the RACE DAY for the Girl Scouts participating in the Raingutter Regatta with their sail boats. Nora and David didn't get their boat kit until this week and have been so busy with all of our after school activities that they didn't even get started until yesterday. I took the twins to a birthday party and they went to Home Deopt to get paint, sandpaper and supplies.

It was Nora's idea to spray paint the whole boat PINK... but you'd never know it from the photos..... b/c after it was dry and they were ready to decorate - she decided it needed "Violet" on the sides and RED on the top. The only pink is on the bottom of the boat. *sigh*

Here they are testing to see if the boat will float... :)

All in all, Nora produced a pretty boat and had a fun time making it and that's what this "Daddy & Me" event is all about. Sunday after church it was a mad dash home to change clothes, eat and then get going for sign-ins for the races.

Here she is before they left out the door! Good Luck Nora! I hope your boat wins!!!

These are some photos David took after they got there. He said that after Nora's first race, she licked all the water off her boat after they pulled it out of the rain gutter. SILLY GIRL! :P

She lost her first race, but it was double elimination.... so she stood in line for her 2nd turn and by that time the twins and I arrived and got set up with our chairs just in time to watch her race her 2nd race! :) I even videoed it and it's so funny to watch. She won her 2nd race.... but unknowingly cheated by using her face as she blowed - her cheek pushed along the sailboat. I don't think anyone noticed it - but how could they not! It was too funny.

Her 3rd race she lost and that took her out of the competition but she was having sucha good time that she never even realized it... and continued to stand in line with the others waiting their turn. It was a fun day for all the girls. Here she is holding up her boat "The Queen Nora" and her badge she earned.

After we got home the kids wanted to play in the driveway. Olivia I think was pretending she was the "Queen" of her own boat as she stood on top of the step stool. lol ....while PT and Nora refueled the Jeep.

This photo cracked me up when I saw it upclose on the computer... look at Olivia's face!

What a great weekend and afternoon.

Opening Day for T-Ball

Today was opening day for T-Ball.

Paul Thomas and Olivia have been meeting once a week since February...

learning how to do the "alligator chomp"...

and how to pick up the ball, stand like a "T" and throw to first...

and how to hold and swing and HIT the ball...

and run TO FIRST BASE not after the ball they just hit...

Here's PT on 3rd base ....with his glove on his head like a hat.

My two did an outstanding job of entertaining the parents and grandparents.

..and I bounced back and forth from home plate to first base line to third taking photos left and right for the hour that it lasted.

I zoomed, and took lots of photos but none of them do the event justice.

It was the most fun I've had in a long time.

I so wish we had the money to buy a video camera!

Because my two are so UNpredictable and fun to watch -

-you just never know what they're gonna do!

Can't wait until next weekend - so we can do it all again. :)

Meet the River Dogs!

Last night was team pictures and also the very first time that the kids got to wear their uniforms. The twins' pants are 2XS and are soooo big on them and the T-shirts are either S or XS, I don't remember for sure, but they're LOoooong enough to wear as a dress on them! :P Aren't they cute?

Poor little sister was so scared standing there all alone waiting for the lady to take the photo. She could not crack a smile for nothing. It was all she could do to hold back her tears. Her big eyes just staring ...so pitiful. :(

However the opposite was true for little brother - as soon as David helped him get his foot on the duct tape spot on the floor he stepped back and PT grinned ear to ear :)

Neither of them wanted to take off their "BASE-Uah-BALL" uniforms David said - so he let Olivia wear her cap to bed and PT wore his shirt to bed last night. They play their first T-Ball game Saturday at 2:30.

Happy Weekend - sure wish all y'all were here to go with us to the game!

Happy St. Patty's Day

It was a long day today with Preschool. Olivia couldn't help but fall fast asleep when it was time to load up and go pick up Nora. Paul Thomas though couldn't wait to get home and DIG!

Nora lost her loose top tooth about a week ago and there's a new tooth already breaking through the gum. She's been keeping a close eye on it.

For St. Patrick's Day all three of the kids wore matching T-Shirts... they have a picture of a monkey and homework paper driving a car and says "Homework Drives Me Bananas!" :P If anyone needed that shirt, it would have been me... but they didn't come in adult sizes. LOL
