Happy Fall Yaw

and Happy Halloween too. :) ahhhh... 4 year olds are so unpredictable... :P

Since my newest digital camera is now BROKEN (camera #4) I'm sorting thru saved photos to find something to use. ;) and came across this one that I took while we were home in KY in September for IKE... and went to "Cow Day's"

....and to think we went back home to TX a week too early and missed "Ham Day's" and "Apple Day's" festivals. Oh how I miss life in KY sometimes!!
Right now I'm thankful that broken camera #3 still takes photos so I will have a way to capture some pics of the twins' first costumes this year... but I won't know what I'm getting until I load them in the computer. :P
Hope everyone has a Happy Halloween :)

That I May Behold You

Holy, holy is our God,
who loves us with an everlasting love.
In love we were created
in order that we might love in return.
God, you are Love!
Help me realize that your love for me
ignites my entire being
to love others.
Open me to embrace the stranger,
the poor, the sick and dying.
For in that embrace, I behold you. Amen.

Happy Birthday Ollie-by-golly ;)

Daddy & twins July '08

Proud Papaw pushing the twins and showing them off ;)

Today is my Dad's Birthday!!!!! Every year he calls me and sings to me - I have thought of him all day but unfortunately I didn't get around to calling him until late afternoon. Oh well, at least he had plenty to tell me about -all the birthday happenings :)

My dad is 75 years YOUNG today! Doesn't he look great! He has no health issues and is on no medication.. I can only hope I'm doing that great at his age.

I thought about recording me singing... but I'll spare every one's ears. LOL :P But I do need to sing Happy Birthday to Dad so here goes -

Happy Birthday to you,
Happy Birthday to you,
Happy BIRTHDAYYYYY dear Daddy....
Happy Birthday to YOU! :)

and here are two short videos that were taken when the kids and I were home last - (during IKE) Daddy enjoyed giving Paul Thomas his very first taste of Chocolate MILK SHAKE!

and 230 Olivia gets a turn too ;)

Happy Birthday GiGi

GiGi is what we call Nora's Godmommy Gayle ;) and today - October 20th, is her Birthday!!

Gayle and I (Bonnie) are first cousins. My mom and her dad were sister and brother, who were very close and have both passed away.

Even before Nora was conceived, I knew that one day if I ever had a child, I'd hope to be able to ask Gayle to be the Godmother of my child. :) I even still remember the night going over to her and Ricky's home to tell them that we were expecting a baby the next summer.... and following up to ask if she'd be the Godmother. :) It was just as exciting as the day Nora was Baptized and I stood beside Gayle as she held Nora so lovingly... ;)

I looked but couldn't locate a pic from the Baptism... it is saved on the old computer... if I find it I'll edit this post and add later.

Here she is with Nora during our vacation home for 4th of July this year...
...and these two photos of her holding each of the twins were taken when Gayle visited us at Papaw's home in KY last month when we were evacuated for Ike. Not sure why I don't have one of her and Nora from September... possibly b/c Nora was too busy to be still and pose? :P

Happy Birthday to you,

Happy BIRTHday dear GIGI...
Happy Birthday to you! :)
Gayle, we hope you have a Happy Day today!!! We'll be thinking of you!

Fireproof - Last Call

I just received an email from a friend today who said they called and checked the local movie theaters (neighboring cities East and West) and the movie FIREPROOF is not being shown beyond this Thursday. It is an awesome"date movie" and I think everyone needs to see it... you only have 3more nights to see it on the big screen!

David and I have not been yet... and I know we will regret it if we don't. I emailed David telling him to find out the show times and I'd find a sitter... so some lucky someone out there may get to come feed our kidos, give them baths and put them in beds one night this week ;) - "IF" David can set up a time where he can get home from work at a decent hour ;)

Hope we see FIREPROOF - and to all the outta towners who read - check your local theaters too and GO SEE IT!!! ;)

Fall Festival at St. Francis today

Today was our Fall Festival at our church following the 10:30am Mass. We had a great time and I think you'll enjoy this slide show. ;)
The pic of Nora shown here is one I just "had" to take. We were singing the closing hymn.. church was almost over.. I looked down and Nora was standing so reverantly as she sang and looked down at "Callie" her class' cow that goes home for the weekend with the students.
This weekend was her turn - and perfect timing. :) They had a great time at the Festival... David and Callie were the only two who didn't get their faces painted.

I hope the link below works so you can see more photos we took!

What is Butt Dust???

What, you ask, is 'Butt dust?' Read on and you'll discover the joy in it! These have to be original and genuine. No adult is this creative!!

  • JACK (age 3) was watching his Mom breast-feeding his new baby sister. After a while he asked: 'Mom why have you got two? Is one for hot and one for cold milk?'

  • MELANIE (age 5) asked her Granny how old she was. Granny replied she was so old =2 0 she didn't remember any more. Melanie said, 'If you don't remember you must look in the back of your panties. Mine say five to six.'

  • STEVEN (age 3) hugged and kissed his Mom good night. 'I love you so much that when you die I'm going to bury you outside my bedroom window.'

  • BRITTANY (age 4) had an ear ache and wanted a pain killer. She tried in vain to take the lid off the bottle. Seeing her frustration, her Mom explained it was a child-proof cap and she'd have to open it for her. Eyes wide with wonder, the little girl asked: 'How does it know it's me?'

  • SUSAN (age 4) was drinking juice when she got the hiccups. 'Please don't give me this juice again,' she said, 'It makes my teeth cough.'

  • DJ (age 4) stepped onto the bathroom scale and asked: 'How much do I cost?'

  • 0MARC (age 4) was engrossed in a young couple that were hugging and kissing in a restaurant. Without taking his eyes off them, he asked his dad: 'Why is he whispering in her mouth?'

  • CLINTON (age 5) was in his bedroom looking worried. When his Mom asked what was troubling him, he replied, 'I don't know what'll happen with this bed when I get married. How will my wife fit in it?'

  • JAMES (age 4) was listening to a Bible story. His dad read: 'The man named Lot was warned to take his wife and flee out of the city but his wife looked back and was turned to salt.' Concerned, James asked: 'What happened to the flea?'

  • TAMMY (age 4) was with her mother when they met an elderly, rather wrinkled woman her Mom knew. Tammy looked at her for a while and then asked, 'Why doesn't your skin fit your face?'

  • The Sermon I think this Mom will never forget.... this particular Sunday sermon...'Dear Lord,' the minister began, with arms extended toward heaven and a rapturous look on his upturned face. 'Without you, we are but dust...' He would have continued but at that moment my very obedient daughter who was listening leaned over to me and asked quite audibly in her shrill little four year old girl voice, 'Mom, what is butt dust?'
    ____________________________________________________________
This was an email I received and I thought it'd be fun to share here.... Did you like those??? Kids DO say the darnedest things, Don't they?! :P

David and I have heard a few originals ourselves only we forget to write them down... I'm gonna try and at least jot them on the calender from now on. That first one about the hot and cold milk was too cute! I'm surprised Nora didn't think of something similar b/c she saw "it ALL" when I breastfeed the twins for 14 months.

A Peace Prayer

Jesus,
make me an instrument of your peace.

When someone attacks me,
let me respond in kindness.

When someone hurts me,
quench my thirst for revenge.

When someone wrongs the people I love,
let me seek what is right without violence.

Make my chief desire not to get even
but to create a world of justice and peace. Amen.
