Nora is fascinated by stickers.
She got one at Wal-Mart on her hand last week and loved it! So that gave me an idea for those little goldcrown stickers from Hallmark that came with cards now when she is is fussy I stick one on her hand and it really helps to calm her down b/c all she can do is walk around looking at her sticker! LOL
She got a book from GG (Godmommy Gayle) and the book is called "GiGi God's Little Princess" and in the book GiGi is always wondering when will she get her crown... well Nora gets one on her wrist now about once a week! :)
It is a very cute book and has become one of Nora's favorites. She picks it out to be read at least once a day. Nora loves to be read to!
We have reading times twice during the day and then again before bed.

Last week we held a Quilt Retreat at our home! :) My friend Tracie and her 9 month old son, Anthony flew from GA to come spend the week with us. We had "sew" much fun and the kids loved playing with each other.
I posted photos in the Jan 2006 folder. There are 2 that really capture what they did best all week. Nora I guess thought of crawling Anthony as another pet in the house b/c all she wanted to do was walk along behind him and bend over and pet him - which DID NOT like at all. He would just ball anytime he felt her hand on his back.
We watched closely to make sure she wasn't pushing him and she wasn't. But she loved it! The more he cried, the more she woudl repeat it... laughing all the while. It was pretty funny. To everyone EXCEPT Anthony!
The other great photo that captures a great memory is the one of him pulling Nora's hair. He never pulled it hard enough to hurt her - she never seemed to mind so much. But he was so facinated with all her long hair. He grabbed it whenever she was close! :) They were toooooooo cute together! :)

Nora's poor little hands!
Yesterday was our play date at the Lions Den Park. There were 4 boys and Nora. Tristan, Ayden, Jed and Nora played and played while Eli the newborn slept. Nora got dirtier than all of the boys put together. She sat and dug in the woodchips and dirt and would scrape it up and put it into a tire.
She was in heaven! Just before we were ready to leave the park she was at the wooden railing trying to stick her legs between the slats - in her mind she thought she could go thru the fence.
Well when I went up to her she was looking at her little hands and sure enough she had splinters! 5 in one hand and 2 in the other!
I was able to pull or rather pinch out 2 of them before we came home and she surprisingly sat still for it letting out a few grunts. After we got home she wouldn't let me fool with it much with the tweezers.
Also she has 4 mosquito bites :( 1 on her eye brow and 3 on top of her hand. They are so red. Poor Nora! Since we got back from KY we have noticed that the Mosquitoes are really bad here lately! I dread the summer!

Nora's 1st fashion protest was this morning. Today was our MOPS meeting so to insure that I would not be late I sat my alarm clock and got up much earlier than Nora to get ready.
Everything was going smooth and after I was all finished I went into her room to get her ready. She was already awake and happy in her bed babbling. When I greeted her good morning she pointed to her PJ shirt and said "Duck"! These were a new pair of PJ's she got for Christmas and was the first night to sleep in them.
When I was changing her diaper she was all busy with the shirt and looking at the ducks on it and after I was done I was ready to quickly dress her for MOPS. However she became the most difficult child to undress. She twisted and turned and made it near impossible to get that shirt off but I finally pried it off her head.
She was having a fit and I just thought maybe it was because she was getting cold so I tried to quickly put on her shirt for MOPS but she was fighting me and crying and had a death grip on her PJ shirt and rubbing it across her head messing up her hair big time. Here I thought she was cold but no, she was protesting what I wanted her to wear. I was running out of time and patience so I asked, “Do you want the duck back on???
-and just like that she started to help me put it back over her head and pushed her arms thru the sleeves! I was shocked! The water works shut off and she was smiling again! Who knew an 18-month-old could have such an opinion on fashion?!?!?!.
I figured since she was would be wearing a jogging suit over it - maybe no one would notice...even though no matter how much I tried I could not get the shirt to stay tucked in her pants and those silver snaps stuck out like a sore thumb.
All I can figure is these are the first pair of PJ's that have an item that she recognizes - the yellow rubber ducks - and she is proud that she can point them out to anyone who will listen. She quickly showed her teacher at MOPS when I said, "Nora, where are the ducks?" and again to Daddy when he got home this evening.
