Easter Eggs, Bike Rides, Trains & a new Flower Garden

These are all new photos that were taken Saturday. Yeah, I know Easter was a couple months ago.. but we lost electricity Saturday afternoon and after the twins woke up from their naps (they woke up early hot on 2nd floor) so I had to get them out of the house.

Normally just being outside is fun enough... but today I needed something to keep them away from the project David was working on..... and thought why now go grab the leftover eggs and have a hunt?

It worked! All 3 kids were all distracted from David's project for about 15-20 minutes.. Paul Thomas & Nora sprinted all around the backyard snatching up eggs here and there... while little sister Olivia... well.. she just mainly stood there looking cute.

When there were no more eggs in site I was able to capture a few group shots as they examined what goodies (or rather, goodieLESS) eggs they had found. :P

Paul Thomas actually SHARED an egg with Olivia... as her basket only had a few pieces of sidewalk chalk in it. ;) awlll.

Olivia was perfectly content counting her chalks in the shovel ;)

While Paul Thomas was just waiting for his chance to snatch up ALL THREE baskets! :P

and remember how I mentioned that I was trying to keep the kids out of David's project... this is what he was working on. Earlier he and Nora went to Home Depot and bought some flowers to plant.

In the 4 years we have lived here nothing has ever grown in that flower bed except weeds... so about 2 weeks ago I paid the lawn guys $15 to remove it all and make it ready to plant in... they did a great job and cleared it all out in abou t20 minutes.

Nora got to have her pick as to what colors and what flowers to plant..... anything will look MUCH better than what was there before! When they left I had no idea what they would come home with but she did good. One "knock out" rose bush a day lilly and several other colorful plants.

Nora was already tahnking David before they even got dirty... ;) She was so excited to get to plant flowers.... although if you ask her - she would have RATHERED planted SEEDS and then watched them grow up out of the ground.

well hunting eggs on the opposite side of the yard kept the little ones away for a while.... but then they found the new "garden stuff" ;)

and Paul Thomas knew just what to do!

maybe a little too good... watch out he's ready to strike!!

and as you can see the little ones are LOVIN being helpers... but David and Nora haven't even started really and I can tell by the look on David's face it's time for me to find something ELSE for us to do...

Here is a look at Nora as we were leaving...

So I thought....how about a bike ride babies???

I have no photo to show it, but for the 1st time EVER they were both kicking and screaming as I buckeled them in. They did NOT want to leave the planing flowers at all!

thankfully not long after I got going I heard laughs coming from behind me... :) and I heard the train coming! :)

In the above photo the train engineer is waving at the babies and I as he passes by.

They were VERY excited to see and hear the train so close by!

even though it was moving slowly it sure was loud... and seemed faster than it was..

Here they are waving at me and the other train engineer who was riding on the last car..

Aren't they cute? (click to make the pic larger)

After the train we turned around and rode back to the house and around the block twice... it sure is getting to be more work to pedal them around as they get bigger - but still so much fun :)

There are not gonna be many more days like this one before the TEXAS Gulf cost Heat Wave hits us for the summer... :P

When I got back home, Nora and David were finishing up..... only two more plants to go.

Don't they make a great team?? :)

Amazing how fast Nora is growing up.... has it been nearly 5 years already?

She knew just how much water to give to each one... "Just enough" she'd say :)

What a fun day! ;)

And thankfully when we went back into the house the power had come back on again!
